DSD High School Parents, Students, and Staff
Dawn Beltran faithfully served the Douglas School District for 23 years, dedicating herself to the success of its staff and students. Due to the significant number of staff planning to attend Dawn’s memorial service on Tuesday, December 10th, Zion Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM, Douglas High School will be closed to students for the day. This closure provides an opportunity for students to:
- Attend the memorial service, if they wish.

- Log into Infinite Campus and Google Classroom to review their grades and any missing coursework.
- Catch up on assignments and prepare for the end of the semester.
Our hearts are with Dawn's family, friends, colleagues, and the countless students whose lives she profoundly impacted. Her dedication to our District was extraordinary, and we are deeply saddened by her loss. We hope this day allows our high school community to reflect on and honor her remarkable legacy.
Please note:
- All other district schools will follow their normal operating schedules.
- Practices, after-school activities, and athletic events will proceed as planned.
- School counselors will be available to support students who may be struggling with this loss. Students are encouraged to visit the counseling office to make an appointment with Ms. Kaylin Smith.
