The Message:
One of my goals as superintendent is for us as an organization and community of stakeholders to be reflective in our thinking. In order for us to continue to improve our practices, it is vital that we have a feedback loop that allows us to gather stakeholder input as we modify our practices, reflect on where we are, and solve challenges. Given that, we would like to bring all stakeholders to the table to get their perspective on what has gone well and what we may want to consider improving as it relates to the start of the 2021-22 school year. We would like your broad perspective on "all things beginning of the school year" including but not limited to: enrollment processes, back-to-school walkthroughs, first day of school, communication, transportation, food service, activities, . . . .
In order to gather this feedback we will be using ThoughtExchange, an online crowdsourcing platform, to allow all stakeholders the opportunity to share their thinking and reflect on ideas shared by other stakeholders. The process will take around 15 minutes and you can participate at your convenience. This exchange will be open until from Tuesday, September 28 through Sunday, October 3 to gather stakeholder input. Once we receive the input, we will review the data, post the results, and make recommendations regarding the start of the 2022-23 school year. We are looking forward to hearing from you and thank you for taking part in this activity.
Sincerely,
Mr. Kevin Case
Superintendent
Douglas School District
The question you will be responding to is:
As you reflect on the start of the 2021-22 school year, what feedback might you have for the district?
