The Evans Scholarship Award is an award that will be given to one boy and one girl who have competed in two or more athletic sports here at Douglas Middle School.
The award will be in the sum of $75.00 to be given to both candidates for their outstanding achievements. This award will not be received until they have graduated High School.
The following is a list of the criteria for the Evans Scholarship Award:
| 1. Academics | Students must have a minimum average of 86% (B) |
| 2. Leadership | Does the student demonstrate good leadership qualities in the class room as well as in the participating sport. |

3. Honor |
Has the student received any awards/honors in the sport he/she has competed in. |
| 4. Dedication | Is the student willing to make sacrifices for the success of the team and him/her self. |
| 5. Character | Does the student demonstrate good moral strength and self discipline |
After the selections have been made, it will be the responsibility of the winners to contact Dr. Evans to collect the Scholarship money.
Athletic coaches may nominate as many candidates as possible, to this committee.
