In the above picture Dr. Joe Schmitz presents the award to Mr. J. Kelly Lane.

At 7:30 am on 11/08/00, Mr. J. Kelly Lane received the 1999 Presidential Award For Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Mr. Lane has worked for DMS for 17 years. He has been a cherished friend to both teachers and students. He's been a great influence throughout the state for promoting the middle school concept. This plaque is only a minimum of thanks that he deserves for all his work.
