 Douglas Middle School |
| Opened for the
school year
1991-1992, Douglas Middle School was a state-of-the art building
for grades 6-7-8. The middle school concept had gained popularity in the nation's educational design. The concept was grounded in the belief that early adolescents needed extra guidance during such a crucial time in their lives. Teaching is done with interdisciplinary teams. Having been the Vandenberg Middle School since 1984-1985, the team approach was used successfully and was carried on to the new building in 1991. The 6th grade also became a member of the Douglas Middle School. |
